Hello, I have now the Extreme Energy cam with a 212/218@ 50 and with the 1.6 roller rockers lift is im told is .520/528--But im thinking i want to go with either the hotcam or the Extreme Energy 218/224 cam with a .528/.536. My question is really, do i need to change out the springs or the harden pushrods? Their not real old, i just want to make sure i have enough spring and push rod for the new cam. I bought awhile back a rocker/spring package from racenet and was told that would be good for my older cam. Cant tell ya what the springs are rated, but i would think its around .550---Thanks for your advice. Dwayne

 

If the springs are rated to .550 you will be ok but i wouldnt take chances if your not sure of the rating the best way to check the clearance is when the heads are off have a machine shop check your springs Installed heigth coil bind seat pressure open pressure etc. Better to be safe than sorry

 

I would go bigger on the cam. Going from what you have right now to the hotcam isnt going to be much of an improvement. JMHO
