This Cam Too big?

Hey guys I have a 95 ta (M6) and it use to have a lt4 hotcam in my 383. Its a 383 (10.5:1) with afr 190's on it, with lt4 intake, and long tubes, and the works..I swapped the hotcam out, because everyone said the cam was way to small for it.. I went with a TPiS ZZX cam which is a 240/240 .595/.595 112lsa. Now I believe I have went tooo big. The car runs great when warm, but when a cold startup is done, the throttle is really choppy. The car has not been dyno tuned, do you think this could be the problem? All i have done was monitor my IAC counts, and there in the high 40's low 50's right now, idling about 950-975. What could this be? Once the car warms up, the throttle is smooth and crisp.. Can this cam be street friendly? Thanks a bunch!

Thats normal. Get it tuned and you'll be fine.

You'll definitely need tuning with the ZZX. Find someone local and run it on their dyno/wideband setup.

It's a nice cam for a stroker. A couple guys in our Vette club run it and really like it.

Hey Mindgame, do you know what type of power this cam is making for your friends? 1/4mi times? They say it is suppose to make reallly good power, but this is just what they say...

Randy's car has never even touched tarmac. He's not much of a racer as he is an auto-x guy.

Corky's car is pretty damn fast though. I want to say his best is 11.3 @120 or something like that. I don't remember exactly but I can honestly tell you that it's a low 11 second car all day long. Car is setup well and it's right at stock C4 weight. His 60' times aren't the greatest, but he's just not that great a driver. Some have it and some don't, but he's just out to have fun.

The ZZX has good potential... just got to get the rest of the combination in order.
