cam and timing chain

I have a 94z28 that has a bad shortblock currently(bearings). I am replacing it with another 94 block. I also have a 97 block that was from a complete motor that I had parted out. Would I be able to use the timing cover from the 97 block as part of the conversion to a vented optispark setup? I am doing a cc305 cam swap, so it will not be much of a hassel since the block is already out of the car.

If someone could give a part by part breakdown and prices or places that I could purchase these items it would be greatly appreciated. I know alot of people are doing the double roller but how much work is needed to change the cover?

I have read threads posted on this but still am unsure of how it will all come together sorry for my ignorance.

The cover from the 97 will have the crank position sensor hole. You need a timing cover from a 95.
