Cam swap question

I'm doing a cam swap next weekend and I'm getting all my stuff together now. What sealant has everyone used on their intake manifold. I don't want any oil leaks when I put her back together. Is it the permatex black stuff that's oil resistant?? I have thread locker and sealant as well. Thanks.

Thumbs up Re: Cam swap question

I'm pretty sure all RTV's are oil "resistant", but to answer your specific question, yep, that's what I used, the Permatex Black RTV Sealer on my intake manifold, and it's been holding great for two years now.

Good Luck! with your cam swap.

Re: Cam swap question

Both the orange stuff and the black stuff have held up fine for me. Used both, but I've been using the black stuff lately.
