Question Cam swap. Must I upgrade the timing chain?

I'm going to be installing a hotcam kit and was wondering if you really have to upgrade the timing chain???

I would recommend it but if you are straped for cash then atleast buy a stock replacement chain with less slack

why not get a cloyes double roller or ex components timing chain from combination motorsports? They are fairly cheap, around $70 for the ex brand and $80 for the cloyes.

Good luck!

Don't forget about adding the required electric water pump then.

Dont do that! Never replace the chain without the cam and crank sprockets. Call up Jason Cromer, it costs about $70 for the stock replacement set. I was strapped for cash and ended up going that route.
