cam swap. help w/V. springs

Im swapping to a cc305 cam with 1.5 RR's but I may go with 1.6's down the road. Im wondering what you guys would suggest as far as selecting a valve spring kit that would fit on stock heads. The RR's are crane gold 1.5's that i have now but i may swap out to 1.6's later when i add my powerdyne kit. Any suggestions with pro's and con's? Thanks

The combination motorsports EX-612's are good to 600 lift and fit stock heads.

The Crane 10308-1 kit is a double coil spring, and fit the stock heads with no machining. They're also good to .600 lift.

THe EX-612's are single coils, I believe.

You can also go with the Comp beehive springs. If you you decide on the
beehive route send me a PM and I'll give you all the part #'s.

What about lifters? Can I stick with the stockers or should I get some Comps?

Re: cam swap. help w/V. springs

you should be able to reuse your stock lifters with a small lift cam like the 305, but just double check and make sure they look all right.

I went with the "BeeHive" springs. They will fit the LT1 or 4 heads without machining. You will need locators to corretly seat the springs. Just call Comb. Motor Sports & they will set you up. The BeeHives are the hot setup & will rev to the moon

The 26915 beehive springs coil bind at 1.085" so depending on your installed
height you can handle .600" lift. If you install at 1.75" and include a safety
factor of .050" the spring can handle .615" lift. Here is more info from Comp:

Spring: 26915
Installed Load: 105 lbs@1.800"
Open Load: 293 lbs@1.200"
Spring Rate: 313 lbs/in
Coil Bind Ht: 1.085"
Outside Dia: 1.290"/1.060”
Inside Dia: .885"/.656”

Edited to add that you need to check retainer to oil seal clearance if you
are over about .580" lift.
