Is this cam surge

HI,
I think my 96 z28 with a hot cam may have some cam surge or a low rpm miss. The car has a shake at Idle and when I am at 45 mph and let off the throttle the car also has a slight shake. I don't think its cam surge because in park the motor has a slight shake, the rpms will fluctuate slightly, and the oil pressure needle moves up and down slightly. The exhaust is a little rich smelling also. When I go down the road on the throttle I do not notice the shaking, and when I go wot it seems to be fine. The problem is only at Idle, and I also get a shake when I go down the road at 45mph in overdrive and let off the throttle to coast. Is this cam surge or something else?

a surge is not a shake, it's a surge.

It has a surge at idle in drive, but I think it is caused by the shaky fluctuating idle; it will shake at idle then the rpms will fluctuate and it will try to push through the brakes every once and a while. Dose this sound IAC related; Since there is no problem when I give it throttle, but as soon as I am off the throttle I can feel the shake.

Sounds IAC related. Do you have any vacuum leaks?
If it doesnt surge while driving at low engine load, then it might not be 'cam surge'.

It feels like a miss but it dose not do it under low engine load or wot. I can feel it when I let off the throttle completely and coast at 40mph, and I also feel it at Idle.

I don't think a hotcam is near big enough to experience "cam surge"

No I think shobox is correct it is a miss. But the only thing I cant figure out is the opti is new, and the plugs and wires are new. I even double checked the wires for burnt ones, but they are all good. If it were ignition related wouldn't it miss at wot also? Could it be bad injectors? I had my fuel pump go out and I replaced it with a new one and never got the car running 100% again. When the pump went out the car was flooding out the driver side and leaning out the passenger side. If the driver side injectors were using all the fuel and the passenger sided injectors were running dry; could I have damaged the injectors?

Your sig does not say if you have an auto or manual trans, but a miss will be most noticeable in a high gear and low RPMs/speed. Easy to tell with a manual in 5th or 6th.

I have an A4 and I can feel it in overdrive at low rpms. But if I put the throttle down I cant feel it, it's only noticeable when idling, and at almost no throttle and also when I am off the throttle and rolling at 45mph in overdrive.
