Cam suggestion

Not sure...would have to look around. What kind of mileage you running? If you don't have a real high mileage car I would only replace them for insurance, cause your already in there.... why not replace them. I would also recommend getting some nice pushrods. The stock ones will not like the high loads from the springs you will need to use. Of course...you may not have this in your budget, but you will save money in the long run more than likely.

Well, the car has a fairly fresh carbed 350 so I am not in a big hurry, and want to do it right. I am just trying to figure out what all needs to be done to do it right.

Oh....IC. I guess if you want a good strong valvetrain that can hold up to the abuse from the XE cam you will need to get what I listed. New springs, pushrods, lifters along with an XE cam, and your more than ready. You could even get some RR's if you don't have any.

I will probably get rr's eventually, but whether that happens before or after the motor goes in we will see. This is all assuming that the motor checks out and I actually buy it(hopfully, I want fuel injection).
