cam shaft,fuel rail covers

i want to buy a cam shaft for my 96 Z
my dad does all of my mechanical work how tough is it to change one. and can u leave the motor in the car or not? and if any one has any rough hour totals that would be nice too.

also i want to get lt1 fuel rail covers
do i have to buy the corvette brake piece? and r they a pain in the *** to install(the covers i mean) i have the instructions already.

yes it can be done with the motor in.
first time is always going to be longer to install.
