Re: cam question

if its not for racing just take the cat off and put a pipe in its place thats what i did and it sound nice not too loud but loud enough when you go wot and it backfires nasty style too or just do exhuast. Im installing cam and heads as we speak, from what i read the stock heads can only handle the stock cam, thats what i understood.

Re: cam question

The gm847 makes it's power at a very high RPM, you will need some head work done to really make it shine, and if you are staying with the stock bottom I would say it might be too much cam for your setup. The cc503 is the cam that several people have chosen for a stock head car with very good results.

I don't know where you read that but there are several cam only LT1s with good results without doing heads.

Re: cam question

If you want the lopey sound on an otherwise stock engine you would be better served with s shorter duration can on a tighter LSA

Re: cam question

I think they even got some new cams that make a lopey sound and don't mess up your driveability, although that's a lot of trouble to go through for a lopey sounding car.

Re: cam question

You are still not getting it, even your dream setup there is not right, the 847 is going to want more stall and/or gear.

Re: cam question

You can lower your idle speed with a simple tune to make it sound like you have a cam. I mean if you aren't going to race it, then why spend the money.
