Cam question

I currently have something of a hotcam or cc305 not sure it was in the car when i bought it. It has mildly ported heads and full bolt ons. The car put down 340rwhp and close to the same in torque. I have talked to LE a couple times but am still undecided if i should go with a stage 3 setup or just put a bigger cam and different springs and see what she does. It is not a daily driver but i do put quite a few miles on it. I would really like to see 425rwhp but i know that wont happen with just a cam change, is it possible to hit 400 by just doing that? If so what cam should i go with

Thanks
Scott

Re: Cam question

400 rwhp would be pretty hard to get with just "mildly ported" heads. Cant really know unless we know exactly what was done to the heads. I would go with the le2 setup if you still drive it quite abit. That should net you over 400 rwhp.

Re: Cam question

well i guess i should have put it this way, when i drive it i race it or take it to car shows not stop and go traffic. I wish i knew the specs on the heads as well i bought the car the way it is through a friend of mine whos uncle built the motor if that makes sense. i think i am going to have to take them off and have them flow benched and go from there?

Re: Cam question

Having the heads flowed would be an excellent idea. If they are good enough for you goals just send the flow numbers to a cam guy and get a custom cam. If they are now good enough, the flow cart will help greatly when it comes time to sell them and get the le3.
