would doing an lt1 hotcam do anything for my car w/o headers or any head work what gains would i get if any, would i need a retune . I dont plan on doing anything with the heads, but thinking of shorties in the future.

 

you'll see a gain but not the full potential of the cam without headers, how much exactly, thats application specific and hard to pinpoint any numbers

i suggest you do the traditional route when modding....intake, exhaust..then worry about cracking the motor open for internal mods after you have it breathing freely

 

I got 24 rwhp from the Crane 227 cam, with probably 5-10 more on the
table until I resolve a spark issue. This is with stock cast iron exhaust
manifolds. You can probably expect the same from a hotcam, maybe
just a tad more.
