cam question

I was just reading on here and someone said that you could put in a cam without pulling the motor. I dont really know a whole lot about my car yet because I just bought it. I didn't think that you could do that without either pulling the whole front end off the car or pulling the motor.

What i want is a good lopey idle but i still want it to maintain drivability because its my daily driver. I was plannin on puttin 1.6 RR and having the heads ported and polished and then having the intake ported and then puttin on a bigger throttle body.

If anyone out there can tell me a little more about this I would greatly appreciate it.

Also i was looking at this hot cam kit that was in summit but I really dont know that much about cams...its rated at 218/228 @.050" with .525/.525 exhaust...is that fairly big or do yall think i need to go bigger...the whole kit comes with RR valve spring, caps, keys and shims for $510...is that a pretty good deal?

You can put the cam in without pulling the motor. http://www.streetillusionsracing.com...ll/Cam/cam.htm Thats a GREAT install page.

Im not a fan of the hotcam. Its very mild. You can get cams with better driving characteristics and more power. I suggest giving combination motorsports a shout and have them put together a cam package to fit your exact needs.
