Arrow cam packages

hey,
i want to do a top end rebuild and maybe do the bottom end since i'll be working on the top. i've heard that motorsport combinations has good packages in cams such as the Comp XE 224-230. so which one do u guys recommend?
1. Comp XE 224-230 kit
2. lt4 hotcam kit
I live in chicago, so we do have emissions on rollers. I will be getting my heads ported and polished. This car will be street driven, maybe go to the track once a year. basically want a monster z on the street. i do have a convertible, so i know that is a - as far as weight. I want to run low 12's. i want to kick ls1 camaro ss ***!!!!!!!!!!! i have a a4 w/3:23 gears. I'm thinking of goin to 3:42 or 3:73. Which do u recommend? Also want to get a vigilante, don't know what stall to get. I'll probably go to nighttrain for porting or ai, when i have the moolah. I'd love to hear your suggestions for my car, and also anybody know which subframe connectors would be good 4 my car? thanks

Rebuilding the bottom end is not going to give you any power... why fix what isn't broken? If you were looking at more major modifications such as a heavy shot of nitrous, boost, or extreme RPM it makes sense but you're just talkin' a fairly tame cam swap.

I prefer the XE cams. The 224/230 should work great with an A4 street car. It has a very broad power range and isn't going to be peaky.

Getting the XE 224/230, with a 112 lsa through emissions may prove difficult. I don't have much experience with emissions testing but someone in the Chicago area was having a hell of a time getting his 224/230 to pass. A good PCM tune is going to be very important. There are always tricks to get it to pass, I think it's doable.

I'm not well versed in A4 cars but a stall is definitely recommended with this cam. I would think something along the lines of a 2800 would work well on the street with this torquey cam.

3.73 gearing is pretty typical for A4 cars with your planned mods.
