With mods in sig and some drag radials, my car did a 12.2 in the 1/4. I'm looking for a cam to replace my hotcam. I'd like to get to high to mid 11s. I'd like power by 6200. This is not a dd, but would like a little lope as possible while still accomplishing my goals. Can anyone with similar mods and track results post up or even pm me their cam specs @.050? Off the shelf or custom grinds make no difference. I'd like to get cam reccommendations from Joe O or Bret, but that won't happen. I paid Pat G for his cam reccommendation already. Just looking to weigh ALL of my options. Thanks!
so power peak at 6200 meaning you'll shift at lets say ~6500?
Then I would say something like a 503 or maybe a LPE cam. Maybe even something smaller like a crane 227 since your heads seem to be pretty good. The hotcam just seems to be lopey cam to me. There are a lot more cams out there that are better. Just my .02.

Send your heads and intake to AI for additional work an appropriately matched cam. Then add long tubes.
If you're on a budget, just get a cam recommendation from a competant cam selector and put on long tubes.

Also, maybe I have the terminology screwed up, but I don't want to rev the engine past 6200. So, to work with my tc, gears and rev limits, I'm looking for a cam in the peak operating range of 3500-6200.

That cam is designed to work more with the super ram/TPI intakes whereas the 211/219 .533/.560(1.6 rockers)/112 is more for the LT1/mini-ram intakes.
I would suggest the LPE cam as well. I had the 211/219 and shifted at 6200rpm. I believe my peak was 5900rpm. You may have to use a smaller stall and gear down to 3.42's with this cam however. The 3.73's may take you past your peak which would slow you down. Can't guarantee you it'd get you into the 11's, but I think it'll change your 60' dramatically. The other thing is this cam has a smooth idle so not sure if that suits you or not.
My M6 car with this cam with LPE LT4 ported heads/intake did a 12.0 @ 115. Car is 3750, 3.73 gears, LT's and ORY. I'm thinking if I would've had an auto w/ a 2800 stall it would've easily been an 11sec. pass.
What was your mph? Where does the LT4 hotcam peak on your engine?

its not that its a secret, its that there are so many options along with custom grinds its usually better to talk to someone that will match a cam to do exactly what you want
I'm sure it will, but the point is the 211/219 is more accomodating for the mini-ram than the 219/219. Better results will be had with the 211/219 w/ a mini-ram style intake. Trust me... the LPE sales staff are about as qualified as a Wal-Mart greeter. Tim (if he's still there) is the only one who knows a decent amount.
