Cam help, to do or not to do that is the question

So, I have been thinking about what I can do to my car this summer.
I have most bolt parts I can think of. I was now thinking about maybe putting a different cam in her.
my question is, will I see much of a improvement, as far as performance goes to justify the cost? Will this hurt the reliability of the car, as this car is my daily driver.
Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated Thanks

great upgrade, you will feel the difference, even if it is a smaller cam (hotcam cc305 etc.) I would recommend trying to understand what all of the cam specs mean, and then research and find what fits you. Listen to several vehicles online also. If your vehicle has high miles, some have spun bearings before, which is something to think about before doing.

These are my .02 cents buddy.

cheapest why is the hot cam kit .many are happy with it , but the best for stock heads i think is the cc503 or the 305 .these cam work great in the stock rev range .
hot cam 218/228 and .525/.525 lift 1.6 rr 1,450- 5,500 rev range
cc305 220/230 and .510/.510 lift 1.5 rr 1,500 -5,500 rev range
cc503 224/230 and .503/.510 lift 1.5 rr 1,800- 5,800 rev range

You will definitely notice a big difference and should justify the cost. As long as you stick with a mild grind, you shouldn't have any reliability issues.

You wont regret doing a small cam. It doesnt say in your signature whether your an auto or m6. If you have an auto I recommend a converter with a little higher stall. You dont exactly need it with a small cam but a high stall with lockup will make it behave a little more when your at a stop. But like I said, its not exactly needed with a small cam like the hotcam. But I recommend it. It will compliment the cam and give you even greater gains. It just depends on what your budget is. If you are m6, then please disregard. Have a nice day. Dustin.

yea a converter would help too. I didnt do a converter, and my car tries to surge forward sitting at a stop light

I'd say go for it... if you have money in the bank. I dont care what people tell you, and I even cammed my daily driven Z28, but you are always taking a chance when you decide to open your motor up.

If this is your daily driver, I would definately have money set aside incase something goes wrong. There are quite a few people on the board who have issues after a cam install.
