Re: Cam Help

I havent seen one. You can check out my post in this section titled camshaft set-up. It has everything I am buying for my set-up. Ive got a friend with an identical set-up on his car and it runs great.

Re: Cam Help

IMO, I would go with another cam. The 306 is ok for what it is but its OLD technology. There are better cams out there for the money that will make more power than a 306.

Re: Cam Help

I have been looking into the comp extreme energys. They have the same specs as the original comp cams for an LT1, so what make them better?

Re: Cam Help

Nothing wrong with the CC306, people have been getting great proven results with it for years. I dont know why everyone likes to bash it saying its old *** technology, but there arent many off the shelf cams that are proven to the level it is.

There is no kit for it, youll have to peice it together yourself. Just do some searching and you can find what others have run in the past. Some One peice pushrods like Comp Magnums or Hi-tech's and a Crane 10308 spring kit should be fine for the cam. The CC306 is listed in Summit's catalog as CCA-07-306-8. You can search this old *** cam up in the LT1 tech area and find guys who have trapped 115mph with just some bolt on's and this cam with full weight.

Re: Cam Help

No there's nothing wrong with the 306... that's what Im running. did take some tuning to get it right, with the cam overlap .. but runs great and sounds awesome... it really dosen't come alive until about 3,000 rpm's. but it isn't anything a yank ss3600 stall or something similiar can't help...

if you have an auto...

Re: Cam Help

Sorry man, there is no kit probably because you can re-use your stock lifters. There is however a spring recommendation.

Re: Cam Help

CC306 is old *** tech. So is the lt1. I ran the cc306 for @ a year and loved it. One thing I do miss is that really low, 1k-3k the cc306 felt much stronger than the 847. (even though the tq is similar)

Its old *** proven tech.

No matter what anyone tells you I think running stock rockers on the 306 is a bad idea. The snapped rocker in my garage will concur.

No kit but anyone can put together a decent set for you. I have always dealt with cms for this stuff and they have never pointed me wrong.

Re: Cam Help

I have already pieced my whole kit together, it would just be nice if someone sold a kit.
