Cam dowel pin length
Cam dowel pin length
I am getting ready to install my CC306 in my 96 vented opti motor. ShoeBoxs website says that it should be between .620" and .685". My dowel on the cam is .400", will I have any problems if i just move it out about .250" to make it around .650 or so, or will the dowel pin need to be further in the cam? It is nearly bottomed out right now.
I've got the same problem on my LPE cam, but I had read it needed to be .570-.650 in length sticking out from the cam nose??
I can't tell how much of the pin in inserted in as there is no access hole behind the dowl pin in this cam like there was on my GTP6.

More than likely it is the shorter dowel pin. Easiest and most painless way to deal with this is take it to a machine shop and have them take out the old and put in the new. Shouldn't be expensive at all.
