Unhappy cam dowel pin

ive heard, but not sure, but is it possible that the cam is eating up opti's? i have the delteq system and i know that you only need the opti sensor with that. when i first put the delteq on the car ran like a champ for bout 3 days. then after that it started running maybe worse then before. ive changed plug wires and wires once and it still acts up. i donno what to do. anyone with the delteq ever had any problems with the opti box going bad? or am i gonna have to somehow shorten my dowel pin on my cam or something. and btw ive changed opti's also.

Re: cam dowel pin

If the pin measures 0.62" from the cam face or there about then it should be fine.

Re: cam dowel pin

so that means i would have to take all that stuff back off and the timing chain to measure it?

If you have the cam sprocket thickness, then it can be subtracted from the 0.62" and you don't have to remove the timing cover to measure. With aftermarket cams there is some variation and measuring is required.
