from what I've heard a cc305 or hotcam will pass emissions on stock heads. It also depends on where you get the car smogged. If you do out where I live (the high desert) they are less restrictive on things like emissions, in populated areas you'll have a tougher time. Good luck.

This is from the Impala board but you shoud check it out.

Cam and Smog Info

If you are considering a smog legal cam then you will probably
find a lot more discussion on the Impala board than this one.
This is not a "baby cam" board. There are only a few of us out
there with the mini bumpsticks.

Stick with under 225/230 @ .050 and keep a pretty wide lobe separation (112 to 114) to keep good idle and make the computer happy.

What I mean is that most of the folks here that do cam changes
put in some fairly agressive numbers. The smaller cams you see
are the 306s and the 503s, with a small minority with smaller cams.

I'm talking baby as in the Crane 227 (210/224 @ 112) versus cams
with intake durations in the 220+ range. Many on this board also
consider the hot cam a baby cam.
