cam on budget

I want to install my LE1 cam this spring but I need to run on a very tight budget (replacing clutch, roadtrips, ect.)... What do I absolutely need and what can I keep and use again?

This will be installed by myself.

By the way, the timing chain was replaced with the opti less than 2000 miles ago

I really doubt much should be different for the LE1 cam, if it is similar to the 503

what kind of RR do you have? Are they self aligning? If they are non self aligning, then you will need guide plates with hardened pushrods. I would go with comp hardened pushrods whatever way I went. (cheap&good)

I would get the springs that bret recommends.

And yes you will need a timing cover gasket set.

Shoebox has a cam removal/install on his site that also goes over what you'll need: http://shbox.com/ci/cam_removal.html

the type of spring remover you get will depend on if the springs will be double coil or single. FYI on the tool part
