I broke my hotcam in buy holding the rpm at 2000 for about 10-15 minutes (with a screwdrive to the throttle linkage). Some say there's no need to break in the cam because we have a hydraulic roller set-up. But it doesn't hurt to break it in IMO.

1.run it at 2000rpm for 15-20 minutes, change oil
2.i drove mine easy for 500 miles, no WOT, revs less than 4000rpm, then change oil
3. run it hard

agreed. a good heat cycle can't hurt. get it warm then let it cool off. sounds good to me

NEWSFLASH!

We have hydraulic roller cams, there is no need to break them in. Just after the install, run the car to see how everything is doing... take it for an easy test drive, come back, drain the oil.

Drive it for another 500 miles, change the oil again and go about your normal maitence cycle.

I just broke in my motor. Started her up and ran it for like 10 minutes. Drove it for 20 miles then changed the oil. For the first 500 miles I didn't rev it over 3k and did not exceed 55 mph. Use regular dino oil to break in the motor, not synthetic.
