Cam Bearing Scratch

I just installed new cam bearings in my block. The tool I was using put 3 tiny scratches in one of my bearings. You can barely feel it with your fingernail. The bearings I used are the Clevite 77 SH-290 S which are pretty soft. Do you think it will be ok?

Re: Cam Bearing Scratch

If there are high spots they are hurt.To what degree,I can't see them.
Is the engine COMPLETLY stock. If it has heaver valve springs, high ratio rockers, cam, ect.you need the SH 1349 S Clevite brgs. I have had 2 sets of the others fail in built engines that didn't last a month. I had to re do one and the other someone else built and I pulled both and tore them apart and cleaned out the metal and new brgs and rings.

Re: Cam Bearing Scratch

It doesn't feel like the scratch is lifted. I heard from another post that the SH1349S were too hard thats why I bought these, but if you had the SH290S fail on you twice I might as we'll change them to the SH1349S.
