Calculating 383 Fuel Flow Needs

Hey guys, what's the proper calculation for figuring out the liters per hour of fuel necessary for a 383 LT1 at about 500hp n/a + occassional nitrous?

The engine is carb'd, 750cfm demon...

It seems that the pumps I'm looking at are rated in liters per hour, but the regulators are in gallons per hour... Is that correct?

I'm looking to put a walbro 255lph pump into the car, and then using a regulator to kick the pressure down to the carb level, but I'm trying to find the right regulator...

I've seen regulators from 130gph to 250gph... Since even 130gph is over 400lph, I would assume that means any of them could handle the flow created by the walbro pump correct?

Thanks in advance...

Assume a worst case brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) of 0.50 #/HR/HP. Flywheel HP x BSFC = #/HR of fuel required. One gallon of fuel weighs about 6#. One gallon of fuel = 3.785 liters. So, 1 liter of fuel weighs about 1.6#

(500 HP) x (0.50 #/HR/HP) = 250 #/HR fuel required

(250 #/HR) / (1.6 #/Liter) = 157.5 Liter/Hr

(250 #/HR) / (6 #/Gal) = 41.7 Gal/Hr

How much additional fuel you need for the nitrous depends on the HP you are spraying. For that case, multiply the total motor HP by 0.60 #/HR/HP BSFC to get total fuel required.
