Have you ever seen a cold air intake? Its pretty free flowing, other than the filter. The gain is pretty strong over the stock air box, do a search.

I dynoed 255/277 with just the cutout. I then dynoed with TPIS Airfoil and custom CAI and made 264/294 (gota love the lt1 tq). Not bad I think...

EDIT: Fixed 255/275 dyno number.

A CAI system is worth the investment. It is easily one of the best "bang for your buck" modifications to put on your car!

Best for performance: All will give u the same gains.
Best for looks/design: SLP! hands down!
Price range? Depends...new or used?

Install? VERY EASY ON ALL OF THEM!

Get a machine shop to bend and sell you some cheap pipe (go when they're closing). Get the Cai attachments, buy a filter and you're done. I got mine done for 50 bucks. Black painted stainless steel piping to a K&N look-a-like.

i can answer the "worst" cai...

LG motorsports G2 unit...

it basically uses the stock air box, with just a bigger tube going from the maf to the box...not worth the $175...

got mine used before i did much research and have regretted it, i've modified mine quite a bit, cut the whole face off the box and am planning on ditching the box all together for a cone K&N and a home-made "block off" so that it can only pull air from the fender not the engine bay.

the only good thing about the G2 is that it is legal for some classes of SCCA and that type of racing...
