Cags

i just got a hurst skip shift eliminator. i was in the process of installing it and i broke the blue and white plug that goes in the tranny. i am trying to fix that. i don't know if i can just a buy a plug or not. i have the rest of the kit installed. the one thing that i don't understand is: it says use the enclosed cable tie to secure the factory wire harness so that it does not hang loosely. i am confused what the enclose cable tie even is. help would be great.

First of all return that cags eliminator! I'm assuming you have a 96 or newer obdII car... in that case all you need is a 5 cent or was it 10 cent resistor from radio shack. You just unplug the connector on the trans and plug the little wire resistor into the car side of the wiring harness and then tape it up good and tape up the transmission side of the harness as well to keep dirt out and then if need be zip tie everything up and outta the way so it doesn't get caught on anything (not that I can see how mine would have ). The light will still come on in the dash but your transmission will do no skip shifting since the harness is disconnected and the resistor tricks the computer into thinking that the harnes IS still connected so it does not throw any codes.

If you have a 95 or older car just unplug the thing - you won't get any codes or anything like you would if you did the same on the 96 and newer cars.

Anyways, demand a return on the CAGS eliminator, it's the worst $40 you've ever spent.

I don't think it matters if you just broke the plug a bit - like broke a ear/lock off of it or something or did you completely shatter it? If you somehow managed to completely annilate the plug then I dunno but I don't see how you could have managed that while simply unplugging it or working around it

Anyways, return that CAGS eliminator! I have a 96 and the resistor was the cheapest, easiest, and one of the most rewarding mods I've done on the car Wow, was that damn CAGS ever a nuissance!
