C5 LT1 LS1 Braided brake lines. Is there a difference in size, length, compatibility?

I have the C5 brakes on the front of my 95 Firebird and the rear brakes are stock. What is the difference in brake lines? I see people talk about LT1 and LS1 bend this and that to make this all work, but is there a difference in the C5 & LT1 & LS1 aftermarket braided brake lines. I was looking at the Earl 5 piece kit but only if I know it will work with my set up.

I have a C5 brake setup on front also. Haven't installed it yet, but Bob Bishop the guy who built the brackets recommended the C5 brake lines for the front.

I bought and entire C5 brake kit think that I might could use the rear also.

The front of course will work, but the rear brake lines on a C5 are much longer than the stock rear brake lines.

So in retrospect, I would only buy the front brake lines for a C5.

Two ways to put C5 brakes on f-bodies that I know of.

LG Motorsports - GStop kit - this kit may not be listed on their site, but you can call them for pricing. There kit does require that you do an LS1 upgrade prior to doing the C5 upgrade. I think the kit starts at $599

I purchased brackets from a CZ28.com member (Bob Bishop - Lateapex) that produces these brackets for use with LT1 or LS1 spindles. They generally sell for around $250 for the brackets.

Then you have to purchase the necessary C5 parts.... I bought a complete C5 brake setup form a guy on Corvetteforums for $150 for used rotors, calipers w/caliper brackets, & pads.

I have already done the compleat swap. I was slacking on finishing the lines because I want the braided 5 piece set. I just don't want to drop $120.00 and find out they won't work.

I had a machine shop cut my spindals/ knuckels. I got the brackets from Nashvile speed and performance before he closed down. I got all the GM parts from Sam Taylor Buick Talk to Jason he is on top of things over there. Tim is cool also once you get to know him. Im local so its easy for me to pick up my own parts.

The only thing that is kind of confusing is putting the pads, abundant bracket and the anti raddle shims and stuff together. The pictires are kind of shady. The directions with the pads were weak. I got a print out from Jason.

SO what's the deal for the aftermarket brake lines? Wil the LT1 Set work?

I can't answer that question. Bob Bishop (lateapex) the designer of the brackets told me to go with C5 front brake lines. Now wether the LT1's will fit, I just don't know.

Maybe you can PM him or look for his post in the AutoX/Road Racing section of this board. He will be able to tell you.

You need to use the C5 lines on the front, the Lt lines are way to short.
