A/C vents broken, how do I get inside?

In my 94Z there are the small air vents, and the larger air vents. My large air vent in the center console and the one on the passenger side broke. The little thing that slides back and forth to control the direction of the air became disconnected and they are stuck in their position.

What's the easiest way to get into those vents? I noticed there are small screws in the glove box just below the center vent. Do I unscrew those? Or, do I have to rip out the entire dashboard? If so, is that hard to do?

OKAY, so nobody has ever opened up the dash and fixed their air vents?

Please, any ideas are appreciated. I live in Houston and it's fu**ing hot. I need to aim the vents on me so that after 15 minutes or so, it will finally get cool.

Thanks...
