a/c pressure sensor/fan question

a/c pressure sensor/fan question
hey guys,
having a problem with my a/c as follows:
recently recharged the system myself and in the process had to jump the wires on the high side sensor to get the compressor going. charged it up, then next day as soon as i start the car no a/c and my fans are running as soon as i start the car. turned the a/c on and off and the fans are still running with a cold engine and the a/c off?
then, i opened the hood and jiggled the pressure sensor and the compressor comes on and the a/c works? wtf?
any ideas? seems like the pressure sensor may be bad? if so is that what's causing the fans to come on early?
