A/C delete questions?

Sorry if I sound a little "uneducated" I guess but, I bought a motor with no A/C condensor, but it does have the "a/c delete pulley. I don't need air and I haven't had it since I've owned the car. But like how much of this system do I need to remove? Like there is a "can" looking thing, that goes into a block. Can I remove all that? Also what do I do with the outlet in the rad where the a/c line went in?? Thanks alot for the help!

so theres no ac compressor on motor? but the ac delete pulley is there? Thats really all you can delete off the motor itself. as far as the car the dryer is mounted near the ps fluid res. lines go from that to heater box on firewall and from condenser in front of radiator. also i believe that most people who delete ac remove ac condensor and tuck radiator under.

thats right, there is no AC compressor on the new motor, but I car had AC from before the new motor. I dont need it, thats why I want to get ride of it. just not 100% sure what all i need to remove, because I still want to have some kind of heat.

Nothing to do with heat as far as I know. Remove the can(accumulator) and hoses, then remove the condensor next to the radiator. That's all that is left. The accumlator is a torx bit I believe, but kinda hard to get at. However once you do, it makes it cleaner looking and easier to get hands in around that side. Easy job, should take 20-30 min tops.

Ok! So the part right near the firewall just remains there? I could have swore there is a hose that goes to the rad, but maybe it goes to the condenser. Does the condenser look like a rad?

Yes, the condenser is in front of the radiator and looks like one. Nothing goes to the radiator. You might have an issue with the radiator with the condenser removed, since the radiator mounts onto tabs on the condenser.

So realistically can the condenser stay? Just unhooked? Or will it have better air flow to the rad with it gone

Not sure what "beer air flow" is (damn autocomplete phones).... but it sounds cool. You can remove the condenser from in front of the radiator. Make sure you reseal the radiator to the bulkhead so air can not flow around the sides, and bypass the radiator. You may also need to support the bottom of the radiator. Somehow I think the condenser support is, but it was a long time ago that I deleted the condenser and install an aftermarket radiator.

Re: A/C delete questions?

hahahah beer air burp...
In my case I removed the condensor and on this car have not had any temp issues from air bypassing rad, it says rock solid. The rad mounted right in there nice and solid without help from the condensor.

It would be easier to just leave the condensor though since it is not in the way of anything really.

Hahahha it has been a warm day long day, and beer was on my mind! Sorry, I fixed it! Alright well I'm not sure what I'm going to do until I take it all out I guess!

Re: A/C delete questions?

So John, you basically just removed it all and didn't have to fab up anything?

Yeah, I already had the radiator out for other work. The bottom of the rad slid back in well and the top is held in place by the plastic shroud.
You could leave the condensor in there though to make it easier. It will not move around for sure then and no fab would be needed. I dont think it will change the flow much with/without it. The part is light compared to the compressor, so you wouldn't be reducing weight much either.
