A/C Compressor Install / Uninstall Results
Well My Brother and I finally got that bastard back in the car. Let me tell u that was the worst and longest 6 hours of my life. Everything just seemed in the way (power steering lines) and bolts that do not want to move after 10 or so years that were in the most awkward locations.
Removal of the sway bar and battery helped and install of a/c lines seperately helped when installing the new one.
Im not sure if its working right tho.
A couple questions:
What is the easiest way to check if the compressor is running ?
Looking at the exterior wheel and seeing if its moving? (im assuming this means that its actually running)
when i try to jump the clutch my car will still shut off any ideas on this?
Anyone know the proper way of refilling an empty compressor ? (im assuming its not engaging because there is no oil in the compressor)
Thanks

Look at the center part pf the pulley, if it is not spinning the clutch is freewheeling. If you turn on the AC and the car dies it is a good indicator the the compressor is locked up or has bearings bad enough to pull the motor down to die. be careful with this, the belt isnt ment to take alot of load, the crank hub is just pressed on and you dont want to spin it and ruin your crank.

How do I determine if it's my clutch? I said earlier that when I try to force it to engage that it doesn't. I have a leak that I'm still in the process of fixing, but when I get the leak, or the leaks repaired... how can I determine the problem?
