Buying a used Cam?

Buying a used Cam?

Is this a good idea buying a used cam, with 5k on it?

Assuming it's a roller cam, it depends on who you are buying it from. They really almost never wear out. But they can be damaged if the motor comes apart or there is a lubrication failure. If it really has 5,000 miles on it and it really came out of a well running motor then I'd say go for it. If you have any doubt, a cam isn't all that expensive new.
