I've always had good luck with Melling high volume oil pumps and they are fairly cheap under $50. Why not just get your short block bored over and reuse it?

I've got a new (still in the box) HV Melling pump. I'll sell it to you for cheaper than Summit or Jegs. PM me if you're interested.

Do a search. A lot of people (including me) think that the stock pump with a white spring is the best choice for most situations. Some people have issues with HV pumps, some don't.

They made 2 different stock pumps.Get the one with the 3/4" pickup, either HV or SV.

The general consensuse I've found on this board, like shoebox said is the stock replacement w/ white high pressure spring. Some people claim a HV pump w/ stock pan can cause cavitation problems, others are fine...do a search on it and you'll get a ton of opinions.

FWIW I'm running stock w/ spring for my 383.
