Buying Enkei 17x9.5's, what size tires will fit perfectly?

Or better yet, what size tires should I get. I'm not lowering the car just yet, I'm waiting on GFX from Chesee48( thanx), so it will look lowered. I'm looking at 275/40's. Should I stick with the 40's of got 45's to fill it in a bit more. What about 285/40's or 45's. Was thinking about 315's but I might have to do a little motivating and I don't think I want to do that. Tell me what you think.

Also, will I have to calibrate my speedo? If so, how do I do that?

275/40/17 fitts perfect with speedo calibration. 275/40/17 Goodyear F1s netted me 2.014 60' so that has my vote. But everybody will have their favorites. Question is, what's your budget on tires?

Did you get the RK sport ones new or the enkeis used?

275/40s work great,
285/40s will also work.
315/35s could probably be mounted but wouldn't wear evenly.
i just picked up 245/45s for the front and ran 275/40 bfgs and now nitto drags on the rear.

Wing, did you get enkeis for your car too now? or your just saying on a 9.5" rim i guess. you have DR on 16s too right?

No, I have 17x9 WS6 wheels. I based my statement on SS/ZR1 wheels. They are 17x9.5 and fits 275/40/17s perfectly. I have 16" nittos DRs. I have not been to the track with them since I'm in the middle of a LT4 conversion right now.

Edit-Hey Brent, nice to see you again.

There's not really a budget on the tires, but I'm going to shop smart. Not buying the trendy thing. Dig? Was wanting a fairly wide tire. I got the stockers on right now, what are they like 255's. Thinking 275's or 285s would look good on them. BTW, I bought them used off of a guy in the forum. The deal isn't quite finished until shipment, so I will wait to praise him . They are painted gloss black in the middle and polished lip on a black car with silver SS stripes. Also waiting on GFX from Chesee48. Car will look good once I get everything together.

So you think 285's would probably be the max on fitment? Anything larger would probably hang over and not wear correctly. I will look for 285/40's if they aren't too expensive, but I will prolly go with the 275's. Thanx guys.

later
My name is Joe

That should look REAL nice. I would love to get my spokes painted/powdercoated. Maybe not black, but a darker satin grey. Post pics when you get them. These rims are awesome, you'll love them. I've got silver pinstripes on my black formula now but would like to switch to a silver compta style stripe.
