buying an airfoil
yea im thinking about buying an airfoil, it goes inside the throttle body and is supposed to minimize air turbelance and increasing hp and mpg. does anyone have one? does it work? let me know, thanks

Occasionally you can find them used in the for sale section, ebay they are like $30 shipped constantly.
If a dyno chart isn't "hard proof," I don't know what is. In the end, it's definitely not going to hurt. Throw it on with a cold air kit and you'll probably have a greater gain from it. Not saying that the dyno chart isn't just a fluke, but it's still hard evidence.

i know, its great evidence. but i was saying as seeing more than one to get more of an average. i already have the cai, so maybe it will money well spent. thanks all this is greatly needed in my decision, just trying to get a good baseline of opinions.

Not really, you could say that my blood ended up at a crime scene was just a coincidence... but that's still evidence. By the same token, it could have just had that effect on that one particular car.. but I haven't seen any dyno charts that dismiss it.
Either way, like I said, it can't hurt. And if you get 2 hp from a $20 mod, that's $10/hp which isn't bad.

For how much the airfoil is, it's not that big of a risk. You can usually find the Jet/SLP versions on ebay for cheap. It's not like you're going to be spending $400 on a catback that is less effective than the stock unit. Some of the aftermarket throttle bodies have a similar design in the flow path, so keep that in mind also.
You're not going to notice a seat of the pants gain, but it's not going to hurt anything.

I've seen a few documented sources where the airfoil has been good for a few horsepower. It definitely won't be a seat of the pants mod. If you can find one for a decent price, it wouldn't hurt to have it I guess.
