Burnt plug wire. How do i get just one?

I had one of my MSD 8.5 plug wires burn almost through and need just one. I used an old one that was 10 years old and not the same size. I ran it a different route. Would this cause a power drop? My 1/4 mile time dropped a 1/2 second from the time it ruined the plug wire to me putting a used one back in. Basically i am asking if 7 plug wires are one brand and 8.5mm will using (1) 7mm that is real old cause a performance loss?

This has hapenned to me... Had a set of Taylor wires and burned #7 straight through. I had to replace it with a stock wire until I could find another taylor. The car ran fine that way although I never tried measuring how it performed, I was just limping around until I could get a replacement. If you contact MSD directly and explain what hapenned I'm sure they could provide you with a replacement wire.

Seems like with as many of us that burn the #7 wire, they would offer a longer replacement. I've never seen a single plug wire for sale, but you'd think that they would be out there.

if you contact msd tech they will give you a part number for the one wire(i think they are actually giving you a dummy number and then the make/sell you the one wire)....then they give you the sales phone number and tell you to call for pricing of it and shipping.....i got the part number and never called....i burned up #2

When I was making up my MSD 8.5 OVC wires from one of their universal sets, I accidentally cut one too short. I called MSD and they sent me a replacement for free .
