burnt coolant smell thru a/c after flush
burnt coolant smell thru a/c after flush
Well I just flushed the system today and put some dex cool back in. Everything went fine, temps good, bled system. But I've noticed at about the 1/2 mark on the gauge, I start to smell burnt coolant through the A/C system when its in vent mode. Does coolant have an effect on hot surfaces like oil does and continue to smell for awhile? Its weird. I would think that it would be burnt off by now, but I still smell it. Any ideas? Or anything I should worry about?
Just how much did you flush it out?
I am always warning people about over flushing, the system. No the gunk in there causes cooling restrictions, but it also clogs up little leaks in the system. Its possible that you have a leak somewhere and the a/c vents are picking up the air from it. Maybe a steam leak.

thanks fbird, I appreciate the feedback, but the smell has gone away. It was only coming in when in vent or A/C mode, when I had it recirculating it wasn't there. It must have just needed to be burnt off from spilling it inside the engine compartment. But again, Thanks
