Chill out, take your time, and learn to do it in a EMPTY parking lot. You'd be suprised at some of the stupid **** I have seen happen to idiot friends trying to show off ...
I agree the smallest of things like gravel from a dump truck or a light drizzle of rain will change a normally safe manuver into a dangerous one. Go easy on the steet save it for the track.

The quote, "Or what the driver in the other, who panics when he sees your car spinning the tires, might do." Reminded me of a story. I was coming home from school one day and the traffic was light and for some reason I wanted to see how long I could powerslide on this left turn. I was the 1st to turn at the light and there was a couple of car's behind me. So I hit it at the light I must of slide for about 20-30feet at a 45* angle to the direction I was going. So I straightend her back out and continue going the speed limit. The cars stayed a minimum of 2 blocks behind for the next 7 blocks till I turned off. I guess I kinda scared them. Thought it was kinda funny at the time, now I just think I was retarded to do that on a public street.

Re: burnouts

haha nice nice. I got my friend (the one that hit the pole in his toyota) to go with me to some roads in the middle fo no where. anyways, he got out and filmed it on his cellphone to show my dad. I just revved it up to about 2.5 in first, dropped the cluth and it spun the tires for a good 30 to 40 feet before I let off
