I am in the process of installing a Vette LT-1 in my Z-28, there are some small issues holding me up. I realize they are identical engines other than accessories mounted differently and 4 bolt mains. I read that the oil pans are different, something about interfering with the crossmember on the f-bodys. My Z-28 pan won't clear the oil pump pick-up, do I have to modify or can I order an aftermarket pan? Anybody with some experience with this, or will the stock Vette pan clear the crossmember?

 

The vette pan will not clear. Just get a new oil pump pick up. Be sure to have it welded on.

 

Use both the pan and pick-up from the Camaro! Or get a nice after market pan w/pick-up.

 

Correct I recently swapped a 94 c4 engine into a 95 fbod.
Even with a tubular cross member I needed the camaro pan/pickup.
