Building LT1 Soon, Need Advice

I am soon purchasing a bare block LT1. I am considering one of two things, either keep it a 350 or turn it into a 383. Id like to make some serious street N/A HP, something along the lines of 400+ RWHP. So i was wondering what might be my best setup. Would you go with a 350 or stroke it to a 383? Either one you choose, what mods would you do to get it there? I was thinking the LE2 package would suit me fine for my purpose, am i on the right track or completely lost? In short...what do you recommend and what mods do you recommend i use to make the power?
Thanks for all your time.

If you want some serious hp go 383 solid roller. If you are shooting for about 400rwhp go 350 lt1 with le2 and all the suporting mods loyd mentions. You should make over 400rwhp with the 383 le2.

355 with a good top end package (Lloyd, AI, Port Pros) and moderate cam should get you where you want to be.

if seeing 400 HP with a 355 is really not so difficult to reach, how much HP difference could i see between a 350 setup and 383 setup with just about the same supporting mods? Is there a difference in reliability/driveability with the two? I am going to be running the hell out of it once in a while, its just part of how i drive. When i want to have some fun, i ussually do depending on the place, time, etc. So does this information change any recommendations you guys would have for me?

If you're really starting from a bare block and have to get a new crankshaft anyway...

No real reason not to go with the 383...

The 383 will give you more torque and a little more horsepower... If you drive mostly on the street, the added torque will really be your friend...

thats what i was counting on, but i figured i'd ask opinions and those who run 383's on the street and find out a few good facts to help me decide where i want to go with things

I think a youll have a lot of fun and be happy with the 383 le2 setup.Like said why not go 383 if you need to buy a new crank anyway. If you want less cam you can get the le2 heads and the le1 cam.

sounds so far like the 383 is the way to go, i'll call up Lloyd and ask him what he thinks once i decide for sure which of these 2 setups to go with.
