Building 355, need sugestions

Right now the motor has a stock bottom end. I am planning on using this rebuild kit from summit with forged pistons, or let me ask this...is this the right one: http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...=KeywordSearch
The motor with have a LE2 top end and will be sprayed with a 150 shot about once a week. The car is also a daily driver. Is there anything else you guys would recommend me to buy with this setup on stock rods and crank, like arp rod bolts. Also what all needs to be done to the block for it to be setup for .30 over? Also what is the average cost on this work at a machine shop. Also is a canton oil pan worth it on a motor like this. It will be in a 6 speed car if it makes a difference. Thanks

ARP Rod Bolts are definately a good idea.
ARP Head Bolts and Main STUDS would be a good idea also

As for block work..... Bore, TQ plate Hone and Zero Deck and run a Fel Pro 1074 gasket.

I know the pistons in that setup are stock replacement weight but I would still rather balance the motor so it's better than stock. A Mahle forged piston, Eagle or Scat I beam rod would be my first choice but it's a lot more coin.

I'd also ditch the HV pump and just run a stock pump with the right bearing clearances.

The Canton pan is never a bad idea.

HV pumps one put more stress on the oil pump drive and two are capable of pumping the pan dry under sustained high rpm use. The SBC is pretty good oiling system wise so no "upgrades" needed there. Bet as many guys have lost motors to HV pumps as they have saved, at least smallblock Chevys anyways.
