my 383 didnt run right. engine had no compression (compression tested the cylinders many times) and it had the old comp Rs, 4 of which had failed already when I tore the engine down. it didnt even sound like it ran good. a week after I ran those times the engine grenaded. I would say now I have a much better combination.

I fired the car up tonight. everything checked out nice but unfortunately one of my brake lines from the ABS delete leaks so I wasnt able to take it for a ride. but DAMN does it sound good! nice and crisp, revs great. we spent 2 hours trying to figure out why it wasnt starting, wouldnt even turn over. found out that we wired the pcm ground wire to the starter and not the block. once we fixed that it fired right up. it was really nice to hear her fire up again after 2 years!

That is ironic, my rear brake line started gushing out brake fluid when mine finally got running again after the build. So we crimped it (temporarly) and took it for a spin, for tuning reasons.

No idle vid for us?

You are gonna love it I am sure

However, as always you will want more.

here is the startup vid. couldnt do anything else as it was very late and I didnt want to wake up all the neighbors.

car was idling around 1200-1300 cold. I thought it would lope more.

I will get more video today when I fix the brake line

Idleing to high for you to hear the lope real good. Should sound good once it is tuned fully. Glad everything went well

I got it driveable today, adjusted the proportioning valve and got an alignment. even with the 2.73s it wants to move. its hard to tell how quick it is because I havent gone any more than 3/4 throttle and the speedometer reads 2/3rds what the actual speed is since I have it set for 4.10s. I did blip the throttle real quick in 2nd gear and the rear end started to come out real fast. with some tuning and 4.10s it should run REALLY good.

but unfortunately my fun came to an end. on the way home I got a flat tire. just cant win lol

I also have another problem. the power steering wont work, it works intermittently. I turned the wheel left and right a bunch of times to try and circulate it before I had it running. when i got it running I turned the wheels and topped off the reservoir, still wont work right. its hard to drive with the big 275s up front and no PS.

edit:
got a nice pic uploaded my friend took of the car today. this is what it looks like with 2 years of baked on dirt and grime on the paint (wheels were kept off it for its hibernation)
