"Budget" Rotating Assembly??
Is there any such thing? No I'm looking for the best deal on a rotating assembly, crank, rods, pistons, bearings, and mabye gaskets (My brother works at a parts store and can probably get me bette deal than most places). I was thinging of getting an eagle assembly with a cast steel crank and forged rods and I think I saw it for $1400 or so. I don't have a ton of money to spend, but I would like to get a nice stout setup for now and then I'll probably buy a complete motor down the road when I make some more upgrades.
The reason I'l looking is I broke something in my motor yesturday, I'm not sure what it is yet, but hopefully today I'll figure something out
If your a vendor and have something for me please PM me and I'll answer more questions there if I have to, otherwise post back up here where you got your parts and how you like them.

For my 355 budget rebuild I went with this Summit kit:

Which comes with forged Speed Pro pistons and then I picked up some decent forged Scat I Beams. Gonna have the stock crank polished and then reuse it.

I was thinking stock crank, but if I can get a complete rotating assmebly for a little more than just pistons and rods why not.
The summit kit isn't bad, but the speed pro pistons are what makes me not want to buy the kit, mabye I'll call them and see if they can put some different pistons in the kit.
What will the stock crank and rods hold up to? I'm not planning on spraying, but a low boost turbo might be down the road
Thanks

Ok as of right now, but I change my mind alot LOL, I'm planning on the summit rebuild kit, stock rods and crank (if I can find some) and possibly a LE1 upgrade. That and Pacesetter LTs, X-pipe, magnaflows dumped, 30# SVO injectors, 58mm throttle body, 3000 stall, 3.73 gears, no emissions, and what ever else I forgot. But what kind of power do ou think this setup will make? I know the LE1 package says 370-390 rwhp, but with the different bottom end will that bump it up a little bit more? If not I'b be more than happy with almsot 400 rwhp for a while.
Everyone has an opinion right.
Consider spending the coin for Mahle pistons. (the speed pack that comes with rings and pins and locks).
And minimize the coin by using a refurbished stock crankshaft and either good stock rods or new budget forged SCAT rods.
Compared the Mahle kit to the forged speed pro piston kit and decide for yourself, (I guess that's the best way to put it).

Ok heres my parts list of what I have so far, plese fill in any blanks that I may have forgot.
Summit Forged Engine Kit
Ported Heads Stainless Valves, dual springs, and more (Comparable to LE3s)
Roller Lifters
Roller 1.6 rockers
CC 306 cam
Double Roller Timing Chain
Hardened Pushrods
Chevy Pink Rods W/ARP Hardware
Electric Water Pump
58MM Throttle Body
30# SVO Injectors
Ported Mass Airflow Ends
MadZ28 Tune
PaceSetter LTs
Summit X-Pipe
Magnaflow 4X9s Dumped
3000 RPM Converter
3.73 Richmond Gears
I may have a set of Crane roller rockers, Comp R lifters, and a BBK 58mm throttle body from a member, but I'll see.
Let me know what you think this motor will make for power and if you have any suggestions.

You one of the guys I met at WIR?
On the heads, are they REALLY comparable to anything or is it someone blowing sunshine?
Rethink the cam or rethink the stall if you insist on that cam.
I would rebuild the powdered metal rods before pinks, a 95 should have PM 94s had pinks, like Karl suggested Scats are a decent option. Can't beat the price you are getting though.
Don't ruin your MAF and if you did already replace it, a mailorder tune will have a hard time compensating for how badly porting will messup calibration.
I might be able to point you at a 3300stall in the GB area.

He has had the heads professionally done and has the flow sheets and everything, I know the guy and is a friend of a friend so I'm not worried about if I can trust him or not.
And no I doubt that I have met you, and why should I rethink the cam or the stall? I am getting the cam as a package deal with the heads from the guy, but I have no problem selling the cam to get something else if it would be a better idea.
I don't want this to end up being a drag car, I want streetability too. I plan on having it dynotuned, but the madz28 tune would probably get me close enough to get the car to the tuner.
