Well, we went to pick up my buddies new car and on the way home we were in stop and go traffic for 3 hours straight. Everything way fine until 3/4 of the way home, then the tach started acting funny, jumping around a little. Then it would stutter if i didnt come all the way to a stop, part throttle from a roll and it would stutter and eventually it would come out of it and accelerate like normal.

Any ideas?

BTW- its a 94 a4 formula

 

Thats what mine did right before the opti died. I would check th coil and ICM first though because there cheaper and easier to fix.

 

Check the connections going to the opti.

I had an opti die and do this, then I broke the plug putting the new one in and had this on and off for a long time till I finally replaced teh plug.
