brownish red coolant

brownish red coolant

i changed my coolant for the first time since i bought the car. the coolant/water was brownish red. i changed it for a 2nd time and it was a little better but still really brown. should i keep doing in until its the right color? or just stop.

Go get the radiator flushed. Sounds like it's got some major build up or corrosion. I would get it flushed or do it yourself.

what year is yr car? from 96 on gm used a diffrent coolant orange in color, not green, i forgot the name of the stuff, but maybe thats yr somewhat color problem

so just keep flushing until all the rust and corrosion goes away?
i really dont want to have to replace radiator.

yeah try and do it yrself but if its really bad get it done from a shop

its just going to clog up the coolant and not flow the way it should and overheat, when theres that much rust in yr system it wasnt flushed or taken care of the way it should have been, you should clean your system every 2 years

Its called Dex-Cool and its orange....GM started using it late in the 95 year
