Broken tranny mount....I think...

I'm 99% sure it's a broken tranny mount that is giving me such a hard time, but I want to make sure. This sound like one? If I take a turn or just give the car gas too quickly from a stop, the middle or console of my car sounds as if it is going to just fall right through. HUGE clunk if I go to fast. I haven't went WOT in probably a month because of this...and the fact that I have a really warped(stretched, whatever) TB cable. But does that sound like a tranny mount to you guys? I'll most likely replace it with a poly tran. mount. Anyone with experience on them? Thanks.

BTW, just for a story, I went to a GM dealership just to see on prices. I knew they would be outrageous. They told me it would take 3-4 hours to replace my TB cable and probably looking at $300. My jaw dropped. A guy in my local F-Body club said he could fix it in five minutes...so I guess I'll be letting him do it. I asked him about the tranny mount as well and he said $400 for the parts and labor. Dealerships are just ridiculous.

Yep, trans. mount. $35.00 at summit. Less than an hour to install. Where are you located?

I am having similar problems but mine happens when the tranny shifts from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 1st most of the time is when it is loud enough to hear. It probably does it every shift a little. But sometimes it is just a lot louder than others at very low throttle at about 1700 RPM when the tranny shifts. It is a loud "thump" or "knock" sound coming from under or somewhere behind the console. It is really worrying me because it seems to be getting louder. It seems like the longer the trip is, the louder it gets. It also makes a noise when i turn the car slowly with no throttle. The tranny shifts fine, it is just the noise when it does shift sometimes at low throttle. My car is an A4 with 76k on it. Also, when i put it in D or R sometimes it will make a little clanking noise, dont know if that has to do with anything or not though. Maybe a U-joint or something. But guys im desperate i really need your help and opinions. Thanks

Why don't you fix it yourself? No place to work? It is really one of the easier things to fix on your car.

Got my prothane poly mount at Summit for $28 shipped or thereabouts. Takes all of 15 min to do. Throttle cable should be easy to do. I got my new one right with me ready to yank that ASR .
