Broken Spring or Lifter rod

How hard is it to replace a broken spring or lifter rod. Its on the driver's side bank of my LT1. I have the LT4 hotmcam kit with the roller rockers, retainers, and springs. How hard is it to replace this? I have basic hand tools, but does it require anything sepcial to install or adjust?

It started out hesitating, and then grew to a loud clikcing sound. Now its runs REALLY rough, and you can see the engine shaking. I asked a mechanic at the local shop and he said he was pretty sure I had broken a spring or lifter rod.

Does this sound like the right diagnosis?

pull the valve cover and crank over the engine and watch each rocker move through it's cycle and look fore one that has more play than the others. It could be as simple as an adjusting nut came loose. If the problem is there it should be easy to see. Also a bad injector will make a lot of noise.

Nevermind, got it off...one of the pushrods is free floating in there, not connected to the rocker arm.

I made another thread about this, but what exactly does that mean..what is the pushrod connected to?
