Broken Heater Hose what is this thing?

Broken Heater Hose what is this thing?

I have a broken heater hose the one that has aluminun press on fittings, What is the stuff inside that fell out? Also will it be expensive to replace?

LTs have "several" heater hose "sections" with the aluminum crips. Take a photo and post it so we can see which specific hose you're talking about. Or, a better discription of which heater hose section.

Happens all the time. That plastic elbow gets brittle with the heat and snaps. I just cut the crimps off and ran a barb and hose clamps.

that thing is a restricter, to slow down coolant flow through the heater core, was added to reduce noise of water flow in the core

feel free to remove it, and run a hose, you won't even notice it gone
