Broken Bolt in my head :( help?
So befor i took my car into get the trans rebuild ( last monday ) i was looking under the hood and realized i have a broken exhaust manifold bolt in my driver side head.. The very front bolt, the reason i was looking is because i just got my headers, and i was going to start PBing all the bolts. Well now i obviously have to get that out befor i can get my headers on, And yes it is leaking there i can see alot of carbon on the area around it. What is the best way to get it out? I probly wont touch it till a week after i get my car back (cuz u havent had my car for 2 weeks) and i dont get my car back till mid next week. So im going to want to drive the **** outta it.. but the week after im going to want my damn headers on. Anyone got some good ideas? i dont wanna take the head off...

don't worry about it. The SLP's won't use that hole when i did my SLP's on my old motor i broke the front bolt off on the pass. side and thought i was screwed but thankfully the SLP's use the hole right next to it.

Well it looks like it's broke off past the face of the head. The good news is, Z95m6 is right. There is another threaded hole closer to the exhaust port. Same thing on the other end of the head. The header will use that one. If the broken bolt is sticking out any, you might have to grind it down, so it doesn't interfere with the header flange.

Holy **** you drilled into your head? That can't be good... I have heard that you can try to hammer it in a circular motion with a small punch but I don't know how effective that would be. Or maybe a left handed drill bit?

Like others have said...most likely you won't need that bolt hole with your headers.
I had a broke bolt in my heads, but it was the very last hole on the passenger side.... Luckily, my Edelbrock's didn't use that hole.
There is an extra hole on front and back of the heads that most headers use, which is different than the one the manifolds use.
