Re: Breslin header bolts aren't perfect!

Okay, after rereading Breslin's site I am not sure I tightened them correctly. Tell me if I did it right. Go to www.Breslin.com and click "Instructions" at the top and read steps 3, 4, and 5 and tell me what they are saying. Those three steps are not clear to me. The pictures show you hand tighten, then tighten the center pins with the allen wrench, THEN tighten with the closed end wrench? Seems odd to tighten the center pin before the bolt. What am I missing?

Thanks

I didnt do that, I tightened as much as I could then set the center part. The end.

I have had good luck with Breslin's as well and I am running SLP headers on each of my cars both 93-95 style. The method I used was to tighten the bolts as much as I could. Then run up the center pin. Last I gave eack bolt a small tug to really keep them tight. So far I haven't had any back out and have no leaks. I used felpro gaskets. I use similar method for my locks on my roller rockers and none of them ever loosen up either.

never heard of a bolt with a mind of it's own...bolts don't strip threads on their own

I love my Breslins
